I went to go visit my mother who lives in San Miguel. It’s the first time I experienced Day of the Dead in Mexico.

We went to the graveyard on Nov 1st. It was crazy! Nearly every grave was surrounded by family and decorated with flowers. I dared not take a photo, we were the only non mexicans there and I felt like an intruder. Noone treated us like that, but I just wanted to be respectful…

Here’s my mom in Mexico city at the National building where we saw the Diego Rivera murals.

I took a cab looking for the Doloras Olmeda museum, but the cab dropped me off at the Diego Rivera museum. Lucky mistake. Diego Rivera had this building constructed, but died before it’s completion. His collection of pre Columbian art is displayed there.

We visited Frida’s house and Leon Trotsky’s too.

The Doloras Olmeda Museum is in a 16th century hacienda, which was her home. There were peacocks running around and these crazy hairless mexican dogs which look like sculpture!
